Rétroviseur de Jean-Pierre Bouchard

Rétroviseur (Rearview Mirror) is a project led by Jean-Pierre Bouchard who dwells on the recovery of certain pieces representative of the last 25 years of his career as a composer. All these pieces have been rearranged for a group of 14 musicians, several of whom are part of the Talisman ensemble, playing all together, sometimes solo or in a more reduced ensemble. While rummaging through his archives, Jean-Pierre Bouchard realized that he had written a lot, and that made him want to write more.

Biographie

Born June 12, 1948 in Chicoutimi, guitarist, composer and professor Jean-Pierre Bouchard has produced numerous works for various ensembles in the field of popular, folk, classical and current music, in addition to producing and presenting the music of many professional creative musicians. He is one of the founding members of the CEM. He also founded, with the help of Montréal cultural workers and artists, the Centre d'essai Conventum, a place of multidisciplinary dissemination and production, where he was able to set up a small music school and a work room for the musicians. Jean-Pierre got involved with young people as a mentor through employment projects and training collectives like the FI ensemble (Fugues indociles - 2005), which included young creators from various artistic disciplines. Jean-Pierre also produced theatre music for children and adults with various companies from the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean. Finally, he was a founding member, administrator and creator of the Festival des musiques de création. He remains active as a composer and instrumentalist.
