Amy Brandon's artistic interests for this residency are primarily centered around the timbral interaction and sonic possibilities in blending acoustic and electronic sounds into single entities. As well as working with live, fixed and augmented reality electronics, she will explore the orchestration of acoustic sounds to mimic electronics. In the last two years, she has worked at bringing virtual reality and augmented reality into a live performative environment using the METAVision headset and Unity software. In the context of her residency, she sets to continue this integration within a small chamber ensemble : viola, double bass, piano, percussions and electric guitar.

Amy Brandon has received awards for her compositions and honorable mentions in Canada and abroad from the Association of Canadian Women Composers, the Central European String Quartet and the RMN Classical (Europe) label. Scavenger, her solo album for guitar and electronics, released in 2016, was nominated for regional awards at Music Nova Scotia and the East Coast Music Awards in 2017-18.
A graduate in jazz guitar performance and composition, Amy is currently completing an interdisciplinary doctorate in musical cognition at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Amy has toured in Canada, the United States, Australia, Brazil, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and in several Canadian festivals. She was also a resident of the Banff Arts Centre in Alberta and the Atlantic Centre for the Arts in Florida.
